The V-Lase is a vaginal laser treatment similar to the FemiLift or Mona Lisa touch. These technologies are known as LVR or LVT. They rejuvenate and tighten vaginal tissue and surrounding tissues using CO2 Laser energy.

The tightening of vaginal tissue has a number of good effects including increased lubrication, improvement or full correction of urinary stress incontinence, treatment of mild cystoceles and improved gratification during intercourse. LVT procedures began in Italy years ago and were based on similar laser treatments used to tighten skin on the face.

It is common for the bladder, rectum and pelvic floor muscles to become damaged after childbirth while there is also a permanent increase in the distance between the Kegal muscles and the muscles of the perineum. LVT is a non-surgical solution will help shrink vaginal skin.

What is a Thyroid and What Does it Do?

The thyroid is related to the control of energy use in your body. The thyroid organ found at the base of your neck is able to control organs by releasing hormones into the circulatory system. These hormones are carried to target organs to cause those organs to act in a certain way. At Clear Sky Medical we highly recommend looking at your thyroid function as it is connected to critical functions and conditions including breathing, heart rate, body weight, nervous system, menstrual cycles, body temperature and more.

Is V-Lase Right for Me?

It is unfortunate that many women suffer quietly from the effects of vaginal atrophy. This condition results in inflammation and drying of vaginal walls while the tissue thins. Relationships are affected as intercourse becomes painful and pelvic muscles weaken causing involuntary release of urine. Many women who have had multiple pregnancies suffer from vaginal relaxation syndrome (VRS) which can also benefit from V-Lase.

Symptoms of Vaginal Atrophy

Causes of Vaginal Atrophy

V-Lase is great for urinary stress incontinence. This condition is very common and results in involuntary release of urine during any activity that puts stress on the bladder area. Laughing, coughing, sneezing and lifting heavy things can all cause an embarrassing release of urine. This condition is caused by the weakening of the pelvic muscles due to low estrogen levels. These key muscles support your bladder and control the release of urine.

Vaginoplasty vs. V-Lase

The V-Lase is a minimally invasive and a lower cost option than vaginoplasty. In vaginoplasty surgeons work with the muscles and material under the skin to cut and rearrange vaginal and peripheral tissue. Typically it costs $ 4,500 to 11,000 for a vaginoplasty. If you do choose a vaginoplasty it’s important to choose a good surgeon as there are plenty of horror stories involving low-cost procedures. The benefits of V-Lase over vaginoplasty include no downtime, no pain and its a great solution for women who want to spend dramatically less than on surgery.

How V-Lase Works

Many doctors have moved to laser treatments in place of using invasive methods. In this case the laser energy pulses delivered to the vaginal tissue heat the collagen within. Collagen immediately contracts under the heat and it’s fibers become shorter and thicker. The stimulation of the collagen results in neocollagenesis which means that new collagen enriches the vaginal tissue. The tissue becomes tighter, younger and more elastic.

Collagen is a protein that keeps our bodies young and resilient. This long fibrous structure is what keeps tendons, ligaments and skin together and is found in all parts of our body. Collagen has great tensile strength and is used to keep our veins strong and cartilage semi-rigid. Its role is important in keeping our skin tight and so we have developed laser treatments that stimulate collagen on important parts of our body. Clear Sky Medical has for years offered micro fractional CO2 laser treatments and JuvaShape treatments to improve the youthfulness of the skin.

V-Lase consists of three easy treatments at Clear Sky Medical. Past patients have compared the treatments to a Pap Smear and it can easily be done on someone’s lunch break.
